Saint Patrick's Day, or Lá Fhéile Phádraig, celebrates Ireland's patron saint, who banished the snakes from Ireland (win), and would almost certainly disapprove of the kind of things that we do in his memory. The Emma MCR are delighted to announce that this year we'll be holding a Paddy's Day dinner, complete with Irish whiskey, delicious food, and a full-on Irish céilí to follow!
Drinks will be served in the Old Library at 6:45pm, followed by dinner in Hall. Gowns must be worn, and drinks for dinner (apart from port) are BYOB. After dinner, it's back to the Old Library - we've booked the University Céilí band, who will be leading us in a rousing session of Irish dancing - if you saw these guys at the Burns Night dinner, you'll know that they're not to be missed! There will be an experienced caller on hand to walk us all through the dances, so there's no excuse for not grabbing your partner and getting out on the floor.
Sign-up opens March 4th at 7pm. Get in!
Price: £13.50 for MCR members and £15.50 for guests. |
