By-election for Secretary
The MCR would like to invite nominations for the position of Secretary.
25th Jan - nominations open.
31st Jan - nominations close at noon.
4th Feb - candidate manifestos presented to the MCR.
7th Feb - online voting opens at 5.30pm.
9th Feb - online voting closes at 5.30pm, result announced that evening.
The job currently entails: organising the MCR grad talks; taking minutes at meetings; deputising for the President; and helping run the MCR in general. It's a fantastic way to get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of college and the university; it's lots of fun and is great for your social life, and you'll be in the unique position of being able to contribute to the atmosphere and lifestyle of the MCR community (not to mention free drinks at MCR events). More info can be found here: http://www.emmamcr.org.uk/about/elections.php
Nominations are open to all full members of the MCR (i.e. not affiliated members). If you wish to be nominated or wish to nominate someone else, please submit your nomination form (i.e. any piece of paper bearing your name, two supporting signatures from MCR members and a sentence to say that you/they want to stand) to the MCR President, Kim Roper (her pigeon hole will do), no later than noon Sunday 31st January.
The election will be held over two days (February 7th-9th) and the result announced on the evening of February 9th. The post will run until November, but those on one year courses may still be elected and a by-election will be held when they leave. More info on this process can be found here: http://www.emmamcr.org.uk/about/constitution.php
If you have any questions about the position of Secretary, please feel free to e-mail oew22 or any other current MCR committee members.
